Daily Fried Rice 日鏟鐵板炒飯

Every plate, a part of our everyday.

Teppanyaki fried rice from Tainan. Steak, prawns and chicken seared on the iron griddle and laid over golden egg fried rice — cooked fresh every day at our two shops, Yidong and Hai'an.

Fried rice is an everyday thing. We wanted to make it a little less ordinary — to take the main course of a teppanyaki grill and lay it over golden egg fried rice. The heat, the hands, the moment it leaves the iron: every day, cooked with care.

日鏟 DAILY FRIED RICE

It started with a food truck

The Heat On the iron

Three moves on the iron

03 Gather
  1. Heat the iron熱板

The griddle goes on until it smokes. The rice hits the iron and steam bursts up — that sizzle is where the flavor starts.

  2. Toss & turn翻鏟

Two spatulas crossing, never stopping, so every grain touches the iron — evenly toasted, dry and never sticky.

  3. Gather & serve收攏

One sweep gathers it up and it's off the griddle. Eat it hot, while the toasty aroma is at its best.

Q & A FAQ

Before you visit

Where is Daily Fried Rice, and how many shops are there?

There are two shops, both in Tainan: Yidong, at No. 91, Yidong Rd., East District (tel. +886-6-2097780), and Hai'an, at No. 85, Sec. 1, Hai'an Rd., West Central District (tel. +886-6-2222085).

What are the opening hours?

Both shops are open for lunch 11:00–14:00 and dinner 17:00–21:00. Temporary closures are posted on each shop's Instagram.

How is it different from regular fried rice?

The main is cooked teppanyaki-style: beef, pork, chicken or seafood is seared on the iron griddle, then laid over golden egg fried rice. Every bowl comes with chicken soup and pickled radish. If you don't want rice, you can order just the main (“main only” on the menu).

What's the signature dish?

The most popular dish is the Signature Pan-Seared Tenderloin: NT$300 over fried rice. The top five, in order: Signature Pan-Seared Tenderloin, Taiwan Boneless Chicken Thigh, Premium Hand-Cut Pork Neck, Taiwan Chicken Neck Meat, Signature Marinated Pork Shoulder Butt. For something simpler, try the classic sakura shrimp or shredded pork fried rice.

How much does it cost?

Fried rice is NT$110–700; the main on its own, without rice (“main only”), is NT$50–600. Teppanyaki sides are NT$20–190, and cold appetizers are NT$50 small or NT$80 large each. Full prices are on the menu page; the shop's own menu applies.

How big is a bowl of fried rice?

About one adult portion — enough for one or two people. Everything is cooked to order, and dishes marked “Longer wait” take more time.

What rice do you use?

White rice from Houbi, Tainan. It's fried with egg, onion, garlic, cabbage and scallions, served with sweet potato, sweet corn and broccoli (the corn and broccoli are never frozen), and seasoned with house salt, black pepper, our own vegetable-and-fruit soy sauce and unsalted butter.

Is there fried rice without meat?

Yes: the Original Fried Rice (no meat) is NT$110. It's made with egg and seasoned with butter, so if you're vegetarian or avoid certain foods, please tell the staff or the chef when you order.

Can I book a table?

Yes. Both shops take online bookings through inline (the booking page is in Chinese), or you can simply call the shop.

Do you offer takeout or delivery?

Yes. Both shops take online orders for pickup, and both deliver through Uber Eats.

Is there a lunch box? Can we order for the office?

At lunchtime there's a lunch box (not fried rice): steamed rice, greens and a fried egg, with a main seared on the griddle, NT$140–700, with 16 mains to choose from. For company meals or meetings, please call the shop in advance.
